This Privacy Policy explains how MoleSense Sàrl (“MoleSense”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit or interact with our website at www.molesense.ch.

This Privacy Policy has two parts. Part 1 (sections 1 to 16) covers our website, www.molesense.ch. Part 2 covers the MoleSense mobile app and the MoleSense wearable patch.

Part 1 — Website

2. What personal data we collect

We collect limited personal data through our website.

When you contact us through a website form, we may collect:

your full name;
your email address;
any other information you choose to include in your message or form submission.

We do not currently collect health data, patient data, biomarker data, wearable-device data, app data, product usage data or clinical data through this website.

Please do not send sensitive health or medical information through the website contact forms unless we specifically ask you to do so through an appropriate secure channel.

3. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data directly from you when you submit information through our website forms.

Our website forms are operated through Webflow, which is used to host and manage form submissions. Webflow may process personal data on our behalf as a service provider.

We may also receive basic technical information when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and time of access. This type of information may be processed automatically by our website hosting provider for security, reliability, troubleshooting and website operation purposes.

4. Why we use your personal data

We use personal data collected through the website for the following purposes:

to respond to your enquiry;
to communicate with you about MoleSense and our activities;
to manage business, partnership, media, investor or general contact requests;
to operate, maintain and secure the website;
to keep appropriate records of communications;

We do not sell your personal data.

7. Webflow and service providers

We use Webflow to operate the website and process website form submissions.

Webflow and other technical service providers may process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide hosting, form management, security, maintenance and related website services.

Some service providers may process data outside Switzerland, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

8. Sharing of personal data

We may share personal data with:

website hosting and form-management providers, including Webflow;
technical service providers who help us operate and secure the website;
professional advisers, where necessary;
authorities, courts or regulators, where required by law.

We do not share website form data with external organisations for marketing or advertising purposes.

9. International visitors

This website may be accessed globally. MoleSense is based in Switzerland, and your personal data may be processed in Switzerland and in other countries where our service providers operate.

If you access the website from outside Switzerland, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in a country that may have different data protection laws from those in your country of residence.

10. How long we keep personal data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

As a general rule:

contact form submissions are kept for as long as necessary to respond to the enquiry and manage any resulting relationship;
business correspondence may be kept for a reasonable period for record-keeping, follow-up and legal purposes;
technical logs may be kept for a limited period for security, troubleshooting and website operation purposes.

Where a longer retention period is required by law, we may keep the relevant data for that longer period.

When personal data is no longer needed, we will delete it or anonymise it where reasonably possible.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

However, no website or internet transmission is completely secure. You should avoid submitting sensitive information through general website forms.

The information on our website is provided for general informational purposes only. The website does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

The website does not collect health data. Health and device data processed through the MoleSense app are covered by Part 2 of this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.

Part 2 — MoleSense app and patch

The MoleSense patch and app are investigational and not yet approved as a medical device. They are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. Always follow the advice of your healthcare professional.

This part is provided by the same controller as Part 1: MoleSense Sàrl, Route de la Corniche 5, 1066 Epalinges, Switzerland — contact@molesense.ch.

1. What data the app collects

Account data

your name and email address;
your password, stored only as a secure one-way hash and never in readable form;
if you sign in with Apple or Google, the account identifier they provide;
the hospital and clinician you select.

Health data

hormone readings (estradiol and progesterone) with their date and time;
pregnancy information you enter or your care team records, such as the start of pregnancy and due date;
profile details you choose to add, such as your date of birth or phone number.

Patch and session data

the patch identifier, name, hardware address and firmware version;
measurements recorded during a sweat-collection session: delivered current, voltage, skin resistance, electrical impedance, skin contact, battery level and temperature.

Session context, recorded when a session starts

your phone model, operating-system version, app version, time zone, language and network type;
your approximate location: city and country only. We never store GPS coordinates. Location is used only if you allow it, and the app works without it.

Messages you exchange with your care team in the app.

We do not use advertising, sell your data, or track you across other apps or websites.

2. Phone permissions

Bluetooth: only to connect to your MoleSense patch;
Location (optional): only while you use the app, to record the city and country of a session — never in the background;
Face ID / Touch ID (optional): only to lock advanced features on your phone. Biometric data never leaves your device.

3. Why we use your data

to provide the app: run sessions with your patch, show your readings and trends, and let you message your care team;
to share your readings with the clinician and hospital you selected;
to keep the patch and app working safely and to fix problems.

4. Legal basis

We process your health data on the basis of your explicit consent, and your other data to provide the service you signed up for. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (section 7). We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nLPD) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5. Who processes app data for us

Fly.io: hosting of the app's server, in France (EU);
Neon, on Amazon Web Services: database, in Germany (EU);
Resend: sending password-reset emails (your email address only), in Ireland (EU);
Apple and Google: Sign in with Apple or Google, if you use them, under their own privacy policies.

These providers act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. All of them process app data within the European Union, which Switzerland recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account, readings, messages and appointments are deleted from our database immediately. Copies in encrypted backups are removed automatically within 1 day.

7. Deleting your account

In the app, open Profile → Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it. You can also ask us by email at contact@molesense.ch.

8. Security

The patch connects to your phone with encrypted Bluetooth pairing, and the app talks to our servers over encrypted HTTPS (TLS). Passwords are stored only as hashes. Access to the database is restricted to authorised MoleSense staff.

9. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw your consent, by writing to contact@molesense.ch. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with your local data protection authority in the EU.

10. Children

The app is not intended for anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this part

If we change this part, we update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
